KOBE 5 debuted on Christmas Day in 2009. The basketball shoe ditched common stitching and implemented heat-bonded overlays on the upper. For the lacing system, it was added with Flywire technology that provide a suitable fit. In terms of sole, the carbon fiber panel sat on the midfoot and Zoom Air technology was placed in the forefoot and the heel.
