New Year Resolutions. The following should be considered along with losing weight, being kind to the environment, and not stealing the neighbor's newspaper.

Diminish dependence on traditional media by 10%. You can currently take the extra budget and put it into new media and and sharpen your target. Put it into your web budget! Update that stale old thing, add some content, hire a search guru, create a myspace, do something! Our health and fitness client has received 1000 hits on youtube for their personal trainer segments. It's engaging, it's viral, and it's cheap.

Roll out a new initiative. What is your new "big deal" for 2008? Oh, you just wanted to increase sales by 10%. That's right. We were at Tamarack this past weekend. Peter Roberts, cinematographer, was shooting some of the action at the base of the hill.  I was shooting some footage of Peter.  You know, video within a video?  Somebody chuckled and said, "you guys just missed Andre Agassi and Steffi." 

What a great way to work and play.  area02.com was on hand to get the latest on ski area enhancements and events for the 2007-2008 ski season at Tamarack. 

Things look good for getting plenty of vertical feet in this season.  A good base on the mountain and a little more snow should make for much merryment during the holiday break.

Our group was enjoying an apres-video break in the lodge when the famous couple strolled by once again.  It seemed like they enjoyed the sight of idled camaras.  It must be what makes Idaho so appealing.

The first morning at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival found the Teton Range glistening with fresh snow and HD cameras.  Sony, Panasonic, JVC and Red-the new camera from Oakley sunglasses founder Jim Janard. Say goodbye to 2X the money for two lines of code and a button. Tech talk was all Red and the natives are restless.

But Red alone can't shoot pretty pictures you need a planet.  Besides the deals and the parties the take away from Jackson was "Crude" a film by Dr. Richard Smith out of Australia and winner of Special Jury Recognition as well as the Earth Sciences category. Houston we have a problem. "Crude" lays it out. Funny- once you understand what's going on, what you need to do is obvious.  Save the planet, watch a movie.

DANCE.  How to make your interactive video marketing build sales.

You video must be:

dynamic- thank goodness the camera phone thing on youtube is over and people are gravitating towards engaging content often times produced by real professionals.  Your video needs to jump off the screen and grab the viewer.  It needs to have easy navigation and perhaps a way for the viewer to share the experience with friends.  That's a big bonus.

applicable- in the uber-niche world of video marketing on the web you better know that your customer is already informed otherwise he or she would never have made it this far into your site.  Make sure the information you provide is geared directly to this person.  If you are selling Boeings, seating capacity was already on the Today show.  But that purchasing manager sure hasn't seen the cupholders and cabin expanding windows.

knowledgeable- bust out the facts quickly and effectively.  Tell why they should buy, so you can close more sales and increase market share.

creative- why is the "Evolution of Dance" the highest viewed video on youtube?  Because white people dancing will always be creative and transcend time as we know it.

end quickly- leave on a high note and get out.
